Michelle M. Rose, founder of Struktur Society™, is a multidisciplinary founder, creative leader, award-winning designer, martial artist, musician, writer, podcaster, mother, and lifelong builder of creative communities.

With more than 30 years of experience leading, mentoring, teaching, and developing artists across disciplines, she has built an unconventional, nonlinear path rooted in disciplined practice, cultural insight, creative identity, and a deep belief that people need more than careers. They need communities, practices, and a body of work that reflects who they are becoming.

Michelle has spent her life inside cultural shifts before they were obvious. In the 1990s, she was immersed in the Pacific Northwest’s underground music, martial arts, and women’s self-defense communities, where DIY culture, feminist creative movements, and embodied practice shaped her understanding of voice, identity, and power. Her early work with Starbucks gave her a firsthand education in culture-building, belonging, and values-driven brand leadership, shaped through direct work and conversations with Howard Schultz during a defining moment in the company’s rise as a global community-centered brand.

While putting herself through college studying design and international business, Michelle earned her fifth-degree black belt, building the discipline and clarity that would become the foundation of her leadership. That blend of grit, creative vision, and global perspective propelled her to the top of the outdoor industry, where her work for Columbia Sportswear and The North Face helped shape some of the most commercially successful and culturally resonant women’s performance products of the era. At a pivotal moment when fashion, performance, and lifestyle were beginning to merge, Michelle helped define what performance apparel could look and feel like for women.

In 2013, Michelle co-founded Struktur Event, the first design conference dedicated to the outdoor, active, and urban markets, creating a platform for professional growth, creative exchange, and meaningful community. In 2021, she evolved that vision into Struktur Society™, a creative leadership ecosystem for people building a distinct human body of work through media, membership, consultancy, learning experiences, tools, networking, podcasts, and live events.

Today, Michelle’s work brings together self, community, and world, connecting inner center, disciplined practice, and creative action. From product leadership to community leadership to multidisciplinary founder, she helps people clarify who they are, what they make, and how they lead through their work. Through Struktur, she champions a more connected, courageous, and deeply human creative path for artists, designers, writers, musicians, and multidimensional thinkers in the age of AI.
